翻訳における用語 5月 10, 2008 　学術用語には明確なterminologyがあります。そしてそれが階層的に整理されて MeSHなどに収載されています。意味と、階層での位置付けを理解して、翻訳することが必要です。そして、その時代その時代で用語が変わってゆきます。さらに、同じ時代でも分野が違うとすこし違う用語の使い方になります。また、用語を漢字だけの並びで表すのか、「て、に、を、は、の」のうな「ひらがな」があるほうがむしろ専門的な匂いの文章になる場合があります。違和感がある訳文は、原文から「翻訳」することに力が入るあまり、「同じ内容を日本語で書いたら」という想像力がはたらかない場合がよくあります。その点はある意味でもっとも注意がいる点であるかもしれません。　文章が書かれた目的というのも、翻訳には大事なことです。「全ての文章は目的を持って書かれている」ということを常に忘れないで文章に触れる必要があります。それによっても、訳語の選択は変わってきます。ですが、いずれの場合も、訳語は「字引の何番の訳を使うか」というものであってはいけません。　いまは、terminologyに
