This International Human Genome Sequencing Consortium's new build of the genome sequence is as finished as current technology allows, which is a major improvement on the initial draft sequence. The finished version of the genome sequence covers 2.85 Gbp or 99% of the euchromatic region, with only 341 gaps, compared to the 150 000 in the working draft. 2008-05-11 15:09:08 PDT http://technorati.com/search/thehumangenome.blogspot.com/2008/05/revealing-human-genome.html 3 3 New Arrivals http://stumpar.wordpress.com/2008/05/11/new-arrivals/ http://stumpar.wordpress.com/2008/05/11/new-arrivals/ Sun, 11 May 2008 15:07:04 -0700 A few feathered friends who just arrived from their winter homes greeted me. I saw an orchard oriole a few days ago, a rose-breasted grosbeak and a ruby-throated hummingbird today. I am glad for the added colors they offer the landscape. We have also experienced a few departures: the deer have gone back to the wilds to feed instead of visiting our back yard now that snow is gone and plant life to forage is renewed. The turkeys are done mating and only a few come by the back yard now and again. 2008-05-11 15:07:04 PDT http://technorati.com/search/stumpar.wordpress.com/2008/05/11/new-arrivals/ 4 5 VAHŞİ DOĞADAN PORTRELER - WILD NATURE PORTRAIT http://hayataveinsanadair.blogspot.com/2008/05/vahi-doadan-portreler-wild-nature.html http://hayataveinsanadair.blogspot.com/2008/05/vahi-doadan-portreler-wild-nature.html Sun, 11 May 2008 15:03:19 -0700 VAHŞİ DOĞADAN PORTRELER - WILD NATURE PORTRAIT Gönderen mavi sakal 2008-05-11 15:03:19 PDT http://technorati.com/search/hayataveinsanadair.blogspot.com/2008/05/vahi-doadan-portreler-wild-nature.html 1 1 Fleur de pin http://desbs.canalblog.com/archives/2008/05/12/9140868.html http://desbs.canalblog.com/archives/2008/05/12/9140868.html Sun, 11 May 2008 15:03:00 -0700 Travail et déplacements m'empêcheront d'être présent sur les blogs cette semaine. Barbara B. invited me to go to Chantilly and Senlis for the day with her and Theresa. It's so nice when people invite me to things. It's really thoughtful. I don't plan a lot, so I usually have nothing to invite people to other than a spontaneous roast chicken dinner party that I sometimes have. But I'm always so astounded when people invite me to something or call me up to hang out. It means they want me around, that they like me or at least they can tol 2008-05-11 14:41:39 PDT http://technorati.com/search/parisforayear.blogspot.com/2008/05/back-from-wonderland.html 5 8 HOT PINK BLOOM http://www.tonymcdonough.com/2008/05/hot-pink-bloom.html http://www.tonymcdonough.com/2008/05/hot-pink-bloom.html Sun, 11 May 2008 14:31:38 -0700 Hot Pink Bloom Photo taken by mcdonoughab Last year around the beginning of summer, Stephanie and I bought a rose bush and planted it in one of the mulch beds in front of my house. It's gone through a summer, fall, winter, and this spring without so much as a glance from me. I was under the impression the bush would bloom only white roses. Thinking back to when I bought the rose bush, I distinctly remember the descriptive tag attached to the rose bush talk about white blooms. I was looking forward to this hike. The weather was going to be in the low seventies with a mix of clouds and sun and a small chance of rain. This would be the first time out in real spring/summer conditions. No snow, no ice, no frost, maybe some Trillium blooming and some ferns uncurling. I could take my time. The next photo is of the waterfall we walked to….it was really beautiful, but the kids were tired from the (somewhat) strenuous walk! Silly me….while the kids rested near the waterfall, I tried out my mountain goat capabilities and climbed upward, thinking perhaps I might get to the top!
