Antes de mais quero agradecer os comentários ao meu post anterior. Não espero que todos concordem comigo, nem é esse o meu obejctivo. Pelo contrário: acho que é pela argumentação e contra-argumentação que todos nós evoluímos um pouco mais e alargamos horizontes. Virgin Media rolls out set top box update

Updates are rolling out to Virgin Media set top boxes at the moment. These updates are for standard set top boxes (the ‘V’ boxes) - ‘V+’ boxes got upgraded a while back. The application version my set top box is now running is ‘13.100.1_ukcable’ (ex-NTL area). The update appears to add the following; - When you switch subtitles on and off from the mini guide bar it prompts you to make sure you want to turn the subtitles on/off - This update seems to convert all the channels that were original

Sugar intake not related to weight gain

Who knew? Apparently Kiwi researchers have “found” that “New Zealanders’ intake of sugar is not associated with being overweight or obese”. Sigh. Last I checked, sugar had calories. Last I checked, unexpended calories caused weight gain. This is the only thing the study should be trying to disprove, but instead the claim in the press release is that the “current intake of total sugars was actually significantly lower amongst obese children, compared to normal-weight children.” I’m not sure ho

DC Reflections…Advocating for Internet Safety

While in DC, out of the 16 meetings I attended, 3 were ones that I set up. I was advocating for Internet safety education, which is currently in several bills (S. 1965, S 2344, H.R. 3461, H.R. 4134 - of which the last two have been passed by the House and is currently in a Senate committee).
