For three exciting days Oklahoma City will be \n the center of Native American art and culture in America. \n\n Through the years Red Earth has matured into one of the \n most respected visual and performing arts events of its \n type setting the standard for many of today's Indian art \n shows throughout the nation. \n\n The Grand Parade\, unlike any other parade in the world\, \n opens the Red Earth Festival. During the parade the \n streets of downtown Oklahoma City will vibrate in Native \n American tribal spirit as representatives of more than \n 100 tribes\, in full tribal regalia\, make the Red Earth \n Parade one of America's most unique. Included will be \n tribal leaders\, princesses\, floats\, honor guards\, \n American Indian drum groups and other civic and \n school organizations. \n\n The Art Market at Red Earth\, guests can sample the \n work of some of the nation's most celebrated artists\, \n with opportunities to purchase contemporary and \n traditional examples of beadwork\, basketry\, jewelry\, \n pottery\, sculpture\, paintings\, graphics and cultural \n attire during the juried art show and market. \n\n The Grand Entries Dance Competition at Red Earth is \n one of the rare occasions when dancers from America's \n Northern and Southern tribes can be seen together in \n one venue. Red Earth dancers represent the elite of \n Native American dance\, some of the most gifted and \n accomplished in the world.
